ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE / BILLING / TRAFFIC SPECIALIST 

The Des Moines Media Group is looking for an Accounts Receivable/Billing/Traffic Specialist for our nine, local and community-driven radio stations, including STAR 102.5, LAZER 103.3, 93.3 KIOA,104.1 EZ FM, HITS 99.9, HOPE 940, 102.1 FM/1350 AM ESPN,  93.7 The OUTLAW, Pure Oldies 104.5, as well as our digital service options. This person needs strong communication and customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. All candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and previous experience working with accounting, sales, and billing software preferred.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Generate timely and accurate customer invoices and monthly statements
  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date
  • Verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and cash report
  • Post payments to customers’ accounts ensuring accuracy
  • Resolve discrepancies between customer payments and billing
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding invoices or payments
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger with the general ledger
  • Develop reports related to accounts receivable activity
  • Oversee reconciliation and resolution of customer issues
  • Process, research and approve credit applications and establish credit limits for new customers
  • Assist in collection process of delinquent accounts, turn over to collections when necessary
  • Oversee commercial traffic and complete commercial logs as necessary
  • Work closely with sales team to ensure orders are entered correctly
  • Responsible for inventory control, oversee and assist with the entering of all orders and/or contracts
  • Ensure all broadcast advertising spots and copy are accounted for daily before close of business
  • Enter copy into Marketron our traffic and billing software system
  • Process barter affidavits and submit to interested parties and networks
  • Process proof of performance reports as required
  • Generate various reports for sales and management

PART-TIME PROMOTIONS ASSISTANT

Des Moines Media Group is hiring a part-time Promotions Assistant! If you are a motivated and organized individual looking to extend your education and experience into radio broadcasting, marketing, and promotions, you will make a great member of our Promotions team! This job can be a great way to get your foot in the door and on your way to a career in radio!

The Des Moines Media Group Part-Time Promotions Assistant will ultimately understand our stations and implement their goals. This is the most sought-after broadcast experience in Iowa. You will get the chance to execute station events, live remote broadcasts, and VIP listener parties as well as marketing campaigns and on-the-street promotions for clients and various charity organizations.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:

  • Be able to work up to 26 hours a week including some nights and weekends
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to be creative and think outside the box
  • Computer skills, both Microsoft Office and Office 365
  • Reliable transportation & a valid driver’s license
  • Lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • The ability to shoot and edit video and/or photos
  • Knowledge of graphic design programs
  • Basic event planning skills
  • Knowledge of broadcast radio equipment and programs
